The sun shined down on Brooklyn this past weekend at the 8th annual Atlantic Avenue ArtWalk. The ArtWalk is a self-guided tour of artist’s open studios offering viewers a glimpse into their creative process. The main event was a block party on Saturday that shut down Nevins Street with with a live mural being painted by Chris Mendoza and Pablo Power, and DJ sets by DJ Rage Johnson, DJ Cerock, Ricky Ricardo, and DJ DB co-founder of Breakbeat Science. The block was lined with some of the city’s most celebrated food trucks, Korilla BBQ, Rickshaw Dumplings, and Desi Indian, as well as with vendors selling custom screen printed T-shirts, prints, vinyl records, and trading cards that celebrate contemporary artists.
